Research-Based Sustainability Solutions

Navigating the complexities of today’s sustainability landscape can be overwhelming. At Klimate Consulting, we distill these intricacies into actionable sustainability insights for our clients.

Our Impact

Our work focuses on promoting resource conservation and reducing emissions in hard-to-decarbonize industries such as manufacturing, food processing, and agriculture. By reducing emissions and increasing atmospheric carbon removal we hope to bring about a stable climate and a safer world for all.

Our focus

We focus on decarbonizing industry, agriculture, forestry, and other land use, which combined make up about 45% of global emissions.

Global Greenhouse Gas Emissions by Economic Sector

Adapted from IPCC, 2014 Assessment Report, Mitigation of Climate Change.

Staying Below 1.5 Degrees of Global Warming

Adapted from IPCC 2018 Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5°C.

Aligned with United Nations's

Our mission at Klimate Consulting aligns with 8 of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) defined by the United Nations.

Food and Agriculture

By making our soil healthier and agriculture system regenerative, we not only help reduce emissions and sequester carbon, but we also encourage higher yields, less chemical inputs, and healthier communities.

Water and Energy

By working on addressing energy and water management, we not only ensure clean, reliable and safe water and power for everyone, but also promote sustainable cities and communities.

Carbon and Emissions

And by decarbonizing our economy, we empower our industries to innovate and produce responsibly, reduce greenhouse gas emissions, reverse climate change, and improve life on our planet.

How we help our clients

We offer a variety of professional services focused on agriculture, energy, water, and our food system. Our goal is to help our clients understand risks and opportunities in these sectors and improve sustainability outcomes.

Trusted By

Selected projects

Microgrid Project Development

Helping Scale Microgrid Solutions with business development and customer acquisition in the food and agriculture sectors.

Energy and Water Management Systems Research

Conduct applied research to promote energy management programs offered by the U.S. Department of Energy. Expand the existing energy management framework to be used for water management.

Modernization of California’s Agricultural Water Delivery Network

California’s economy relies on a vast water delivery network. However that water delivery system is outdated and in need of modernization. With support from The Natural Resources Defense Council we will conduct a study on how to modernize California’s agricultural water delivery network.

Carbon Market Research

Nature based carbon dioxide removal is the most cost effective and scalable way to remove carbon dioxide from the atmosphere. Carba is developing an efficient way to turn agricultural waste and other biomass into stable carbon for permanent sequestration. Klimate Consulting is helping Carba draft content to educate the general public about carbon dioxide removal and carbon markets.

Voluntary Carbon Markets and Natural Climate Solutions Research

The goal of this research project is to research the use of carbon credits in the food and beverages industry, including those from Natural Climate Solutions within a company’s decarbonization strategy. We will be reviewing scope 3 emission accounting best practices, identify current challenges, and investigate how supply chain emission reductions (aka carbon insetting) should be treated.
